Salary Planer, on the Reappointment side, can be
used to verify information for the coming fiscal
year.

5Proposed Changes to Reappointing Adjuncts
- Purpose of Topic
- Decide how to handle Adjuncts and Professionals
that are on LoAs - contracts
- History-last year we brought all Adjunct/Prof on
LoAs into Salary Planner with an Active job
status - Departments were able to reappoint or zero out
Adjuncts/Prof through Salary Planner - If a Adjunct/Prof was reappointed, the department
was responsible for sending in an LoA to HR.
Once the LoA was received, HR would put a comment
on the job record. - Any Adjuncts/Prof that did not have a comment
should have been put on a LWOP status. -
6Proposed Changes to Reappointing Adjuncts
- Reports
- Run a report (we currently have) to identify all
Adjuncts that are currently on a LWOP status and
have not been paid in the last year. - Once the Adjunct has been identified, the
department may be required to do a Terminating
EPAF - Once the Terminating EPAF has been received , the
Adjunct will be paid out any termination pay due
them.
7Proposed Changes to Reappointing Adjuncts
- When the Adjuncts, that are not longer employed,
have been terminated in the system, they will not
pull into Salary Planner. - All Adjuncts, currently employed, will be pulled
into Salary Planner, with a job status of LWOP
for the coming Fiscal Year. - Reports can be run directly from Salary Planner
to verify all pertinent information. These
reports are pulled into Excel and can be sorted
as needed.
8Proposed Changes to Reappointing Adjuncts
- When an Adjunct is reappointed through Salary
Planner, a new Job Change Reason has been created
to be used (on NBAJOBS) when the Letter of
Appointment is received by HR. - Payroll Techs will keep all of their departments
Letter of Appointments received, in a secure area
in their work space for easy access. - A report will be modified to find any Adjuncts
with an LWOP Job status has and no Job Change
reason of LOARC.
9Proposed Changes to Reappointing Adjuncts
- The departments will be notified of the Adjuncts,
where a Letter of Appointment has not been
received by HR, but have been reappointment
through Salary Planner - When appropriate, the Adjuncts, that have a Job
Change Reason of LOARC, will be changed from a
LWOP to Active status. - Reports generated from Banner will be distributed
to the departments for them to verify all
pertinent information prior to employees being
paid for the first payroll of the fiscal year.
10Proposed Changes to Reappointing Adjuncts
- The departments may be expected to submit a
Terminating EPAF prior to the beginning of the
new fiscal year for any Adjuncts that are not
being reappointed. - This process should ensure that Adjuncts that are
not scheduled be paid, will not be paid in error.
