Make-up Testing
  • Only for grades and subjects included in AYP
  • Grades 3-8 Reading and Mathematics
  • Grade 10 English Language Arts and Mathematics

  • New for 04-05

TELPAS
  • Only includes RPTE and TOP no longer includes
    TAKS or TAAS
  • RPTE will be given to all students coded in PEIMS
    as LEP, regardless of previous scores or parental
    denial of services
  • RPTE will include Advanced High level

TELPAS
  • There will be one TELPAS testing window for RPTE
    and TOP March 21 - April 8 district choose the
    order of administration of RPTE and TOP
  • There will be one TELPAS answer document
  • For TOP writing scores, schools will collect
    writing samples for a portfolio
  • 3 5 samples beginning in February
  • Must be kept in students permanent record for 2
    years

  • Who? LEP students who qualify for a LEP
    exemption in Mathematics
  • Only students in grades 3-8 and 10, grades
    that are included in AYP calculation
  • What? Regular or live TAKS and SDAA II
    Mathematics exams administered with
    linguistic accommodation

  • Where? May require individual or small group
    test administration
  • When? Either on regular TAKS or SDAA II
    Mathematics test dates or during the
    remainder of that week
  • Why? In order to help meet AYP

  • How it will help?
  • All LAT testers will count for participation
  • All LAT testers in their 2nd or 3rd year in US
    schools will count for performance
  • All LAT testers in their 1st year in US schools
    will only count for participation performance
    will not count for or against schools
  • Grade 5 students who fail under LAT testing will
    not be subject to SSI requirements
  • LAT scores will not count for state
    accountability
