Project Status

• 88 (41 of 48) of WDE districts have Student
  Locator Framework (SLF) installed
• The 41 SLF installed districts have SIF working
  for add/change events
• 86 (6 of 7) of the remaining non SLF districts
  are in the process of having SLF installed
• All 6 districts are in-process districts working
  to have their ZIS enabled, but haven't yet
  successfully connected
• lt1 (1 district) currently has a non
  SIF-certified SIS applications (Outliers)
• Reduction from previous year when there were 8
  remaining outlier districts.
• 52 (25 of 48) of WDE districts completed the 684
  collection process via SIF
• 100 of WDE districts have successfully reported
  vertically to WDE via SRM using SIF or CSV.

WISE Progress

• Student Locator
• 88 of Wyoming Districts are successfully using
  SLF.
• Staff Locator
• Student Locator Infrastructure is currently
  enabled to transfer Staff data as well.
• WDE staff ID system has been set up to talk to
  staff locator infrastructure.
• Implementation of the Staff locator to emulate
  student locator coming soon.
• I.E. WISER Staff ID being assigned in the same
  fashion as the Student WISER ID

• WDE paid for the agents and the install as well
  as yearly maintenance for

• PowerSchool and

Horizontal SIF progress

• All PowerSchool and SASI xp districts have had
  the SIF agent installed
• State Report Manager/Student Locator has been
  initiated in all available districts.
• Some outliers were unable to utilize the SLF. We
  are currently working with the districts that
  have changed SISs this year.
• Some Districts chose not to utilize SIF
  submissions via SRM

New Horizontal Agents

• The WDE WISE Project has worked to expand on the
  available horizontal SIF agents as well as the
  yearly maintenance for these agents to the
  districts.
• Potential for up to 3 horizontal agents, not
  including the Active Directory agent already
  available to all districts

Challenges and Performance

• The state of SIS SIF agents.
• Waiting on SIF 2.0 specification and compliance.
  Projected August 2008
• Number of SIF compliant applications currently
  available to districts.
• Growing but still difficult to utilize for all
  districts.
• Number of moving parts in a heterogeneous
  networked decentralized application set and the
  communication required for such an adventure.
• Difficulties in districts getting issues resolved
  from vendors.

• Issues with SIS notify SIS vendor as well as WDE

  2007
• Spring 2008 all districts will be required to
  provide student level data.
