Attitudes towards gender equality
  • Family is most important aspect of life for 53
    of women and 37 of men, work for 34 of women
    and 46 of men
  • 19 of women and 5 of men would quit work if
    their partner earned sufficiently for both
  • 62 of women and 61 of men agree that family and
    children hinder womens career opportunities
  • Existence of children would not matter in a
    hiring situation for 50 of respondents if the
    candidate was a woman and for 68 of respondents
    if the candidate was a man
  • 48 of women and 46 of men think that the
    employer takes advantage of the fact that women
    with children are willing to work for pay which
    is below their work input
  • 25 of women and 44 of men think that mens
    wages should be bigger than womens
  • 20 of women and 25 of men think that it is
    normal that women have a double burden of work
    and family responsibilities
  • 13 of women and 22 of men think that the
    partner who earns more should have a bigger say
    in family decisions
