  • Depressive disorders affect approximately 18.8
    million American adults or about 9.5 of the US
    population age 18 and older.
  • 30 of women are depressed.
  • 54 believe that depression is a personal
    weakness.

    seek help.
  • 80 of depressed people are not receiving
    treatment.

  • Major Depressive Disorder

Major Depressive Disorder
  • Depression lasting longer than 2 weeks
  • Can disrupt appetite, sleep, libido, and level of
    activity
  • May have feelings of being punished
  • Can cause physiological changes in the neural
    pathways of the brain
