Team Policies

• The teachers start class promptly, and the
  students should be in their seats and doing their
  bell-work on-time.
• The teachers collect and grade homework that is
  turned in on-time. We will discuss our homework
  policy next.

Team 7-1 Homework Policy

• Each teacher will give each student one homework
  pass per quarter. The students use them at their
  discretion.
• The homework passes are good for that quarter
  only.
• Homework passes are available in each teachers
  classroom.
• After the homework pass is used, the following
  missed assignments result in a zero.

Make-Up Work from Absences

• BWMS make-up work policy states that when a
  student is absent from school, he or she will
  have one day for each day he or she was gone to
  make-up that work.
• It is the students responsibility to be
  pro-active and ask the teacher for work missed.
• Parents can request homework after two days being
  absent.
• After the allotted time, the 7-1 homework policy
  will take into action.

Brilliant Bulldogs

• Twice a month, team 7-1 will be recognizing
  students for outstanding classroom performance.
• These students will have their names posted in
  the 7-1 hallway, and they will also receive a
  free homework pass for their efforts.

• Power School is a wonderful way to keep track of
  your childs progress. If you have any troubles
  logging on, please see an office staff member for
  assistance.
• Power School passwords are the same as last year,
  but if you have questions, you can refer to the
  main office for information.

Parent Homework

• Parent Homework is available tonight.
• Completed homework can go to any 7-1 teacher.
• Extra copies of the assignment are available
  on-line.
• Parent Homework is optional. It is just a way
  for us to get to know your child better.

Passport

• Students should be recording assignments daily.
• This is an excellent place to start if students
  have missing assignments.
• But I dont have any homework. -- check
  Passport or our webpages.
• Students should be reading at home daily.

I-STEP in the Spring

• The students will be taking I-STEP in the
  spring.
• The open ended sections of I-STEP will be March
  1 10, 2010.
• The multiple choice sections of I-STEP will be
  April 26 May 5, 2010.
• Please see that your child is in attendance on
  those days and eats a good breakfast.

The Necessity of Breakfast

• Seventh Graders eat lunch at 1058.
• Many are VERY hungry by this time.
• Please encourage your child to eat a healthy
  breakfast.

Student Data Information

• Located in the front of the Passport
• Parent Teacher Conferences will be held in
  November.
• We will have a Data Night sometime in the third
  quarter for you to monitor your childs goals and
  accomplishments throughout the year. Please refer
  to The Zone on the Brownsburg West Middle School
  website for further information regarding Data
  Night.
