Using Projectors

The Remote
  • Each new projector comes with the remote pictured
    on the right.
  • Important Buttons
  • Power Turns the projector on and off.
  • Standby Enters projector into standby mode.
  • Computer (1 and 2) Sets the projector to show
    your computer desktop
  • Video Sets the projector to display your DVD
    player or VCR.
  • Keystone Resizes your display to fit your
    screen or whiteboard.
  • Menu Has many different display settings.
  • Keep locked up!!

Computer
  • Plug one end of your VGA cable into the back of
    your laptop or computer and the other into the
    wall mount. Turn the projector on and press the
    Computer button.
  • Depending on your laptop, hold the Fn key (in
    between the ctrl and alt keys on the lower left
    side of the keyboard.) and strike the F8 key.
    (This key may be different for different brands
    of laptops.)

Computer
  • Your projector should now display your computer
    desktop.
  • There are 3 settings for your computer display
    Laptop, Laptop/Projector, and Projector. Striking
    F8 multiple times while holding Fn will alternate
    these settings.
  • This will display while
    hitting Fn F8

DVD/VCR
  • The Yellow, white and red inputs on your wall are
    for DVD players or a VCR.
  • Turn the projector on and press the video button
    on your remote.
  • Plug an AV (yellow, white and red) cable into the
    OUT section in the back of your VCR and plug the
    other end into your wall mount. The projector
    should display
  • your DVD or VHS
  • .

Showing Movies on a laptop
  • You can use either your laptop or a DVD/VCR to
    play movies.
  • Laptop Most of the new laptops have DVD drives
    in them, which means you place the DVD in the
    drive and use a program on the computer. Windows
    Media Player can usually play most DVDs. WMP
    controls are very basic. If you want a better
    program, I have some.

Using Speakers
  • The projector has speakers built in.
  • If you need more powerful speakers, a reasonably
    inexpensive set can be purchased at Best Buy,
    Target, Wal-Mart, etc. for between 10 - 20
  • Speakers can either plug into the headphone jack
    on your laptop or into the back of your VCR.
  • Refer back to slide 5. Replace the white and red
    cable with an audio transformer.
