PURPOSEShopping Companion

• Users need a tool to assist in making shopping
  choices which are coherent with their preferences
  and/or specification priorities
• The Shopping Companion provides users with a
  decision making functionality to accomplish this
  need

OVERVIEWShopping Companion

• The three major tasks which must be conquered by
  the user are as follows
• Determine the best price across stores of a
  specific model or size of a particular item
• Determine if a particular buy provides the best
  unit price for that item
• Determine the best buy for an item taking into
  account numerous decision factors (ie price,
  reliability, power, etc)

MAJORITY OF HEURISTICS Shopping Companion

• The Shopping Companion has undergone a dramatic
  change/improvement in provided functionalities
• Many (85) of the previous heuristics criticized
  the task support and abilities of our previous
  prototype
• A large number of heuristics are no longer
  specifically applicable to the new system due to
  the recent growth and development
