• RESL is a library of resources to support good

  higher education
• Developed out of the SoURCE Project

Project Aims

• Prototype database already existed
• Migrate the database to the Knowledge Network
  (http//kn.open.ac.uk/public)
• Revisit the IMS metadata schema

Amending the Metadata Schema

• Aim To make input of resources easier, whilst
  retaining/improving quality of resource
  descriptions
• Revision of schema and vocabularies
• Improving on the quality control aspects of the
  original database

Classification Vocabularies

• 4 keyword vocabularies in RESL
• Subject, Pedagogy, Strategy and Technology
• These were revised based on
• Usage in existing database
• Experience of inputting resources
• Comparison of other similar controlled
  vocabularies (ERIC, SeSDL, BET)
• Keyword definitions provided
