Customisation
SoURCE Customisation Cycle
  • Design Features
  • Metadata IMS 1.1 compliant
  • Accommodates case-studies, licensing agreements,
papers, manuals, software, internet sites, data
    sets.
  • Add an annotation Readers review allows an
    experiential commentary to develop organically
    through use.

Do you have any case studies you want to

Lessons Learned
Lessons Learned
  • It is possible and relatively cost effective to
produce generic software tools that can be used
across subject and institutional boundaries, in
    at least two particular niches
  • learner manipulation of content objects as
    datasets, e.g. classification activities
  • teacher sequencing of learning activities
  • The active intervention of educational developers
    and related experts must replace
    software-developer driven development.
  • A key benefit of academics customising software
for their own use is that it encourages them to
    reflect on their practice.
  • There seems to be a preference among users for
high level systems within which low-granularity
learning objects can be flexibly deployed.
  • Software is also interesting as an intermediary
object for examining and encouraging change in
    educational practice a Trojan Mouse.
  • There are endemic conflicts between the
interests of users and contributors ro a national
resource on educational software use. These will
only be overcome with a living community of
discourse in which technology is well integrated
with existing human-centred interactions, such as
    research, publication and continuing professional
    development.
