- The various tests required for college

3The Tests
SAT I The Scholastic Assessment Test (formerly
the Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a test of verbal
and mathematical ability. PSAT The Preliminary
SAT students take this test to prepare for the
SAT. Students preparing with testGEAR for PSAT
also have a greater chance of earning a National
Merit Scholarship, because student scores on the
PSAT/NMSQT are used as the entry vehicle for each
year's competition. ACTAmerican College
Testing created the ACT to assess abilities in
areas like math and reading comprehension.

6How Else Can You Prepare?
- Practice, practice, practice!
- Work on your vocabulary
- Establish a regular study period after school
- Get lots of rest and eat a good meal before
taking any test - Remember, you can take a test as many times as
you have to -- if you don't do well the first
time, take it again - Most important -- believe in yourself!
