    children have every opportunity to be healthy,

5. Wellness Policy
  • Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act 2004
  • No later than the first day of the school year
    beginning after June 30, 2006, each local
    education agency (LEA) with a federally-funded
    school meals program must develop and implement a
    wellness policy.
  • The law places the responsibility of developing a
    wellness policy at the local level so the
    individual needs of each school district can be
    addressed
