When most companies design an exhibit, they think
primarily about catching the eye at eye level.
Having a dynamic display and great graphics is
important, and using multimedia can be key.
However, businesses often forget about an
important additional way to strengthen their
brand and play up their strengths. They don't
know that floor graphics used on trade show
carpet or other types of trade show flooring can
have a big impact on potential visitors.
3
Many companies assume their visitors won't notice
what's underfoot. To some extent, this is true
you don't want your visitors to be staring down
because you want them reading the information on
your displays. But at the same time, they will
glance down. It's human nature to want to know
what you're walking on. In addition, depending on
the exact type of trade show flooring you use,
people may notice a change underfoot when they
pass from the common areas of the convention into
your booth. Trade show carpet or rubberized
flooring, two very popular choices, feel
noticeably different underfoot and cause most
visitors to see what they've stepped on, drawing
their attention downward.
4
The Best Floor Graphics Make An Immediate
Impact Although what's underfoot will draw your
visitors' attention, it's important that you not
overestimate how long you'll hold that attention.
Expect only a few seconds of attention before
your potential clients are going to look
elsewhere. You need to make a first impression
that's clear and powerful from the moment they
look at the trade show carpet.
5
The best way to do that is by avoiding cluttered
graphics. Most experts recommend that your floor
graphics consist of just one logo, printed in
large format on the middle of your exhibit. If
you're looking for maximum impact, that will
generally provide it. The drawback to this
styling is that you won't necessarily be able to
see the logo at all times. If the booth becomes
very full, it may become obscured by people
standing on it. There are more significant
drawbacks to using a different type of theme.
Primarily, you run the risk of losing your
audience's attention before they can absorb what
you're trying to communicate. If you have a small
print graphic that repeats on every 12-foot
square section of your trade show flooring, those
floor graphics won't have time to resonate before
your visitors are already moving on. If you want
to have a big impact, you want one single, big,
and impressive design that will catch the eye
immediately. Trade Show Carpet Or Harder
Options? No matter what floor style you choose,
floor graphics can be printed on it. The price
may vary depending on what needs to be done, but
custom carpets and even prints laminated to wood
are not uncommon. The key is deciding which will
fit best with your booth, your brand, and the
feeling you want to create. One of the most
common options is a rubberized material,
desirable because it cushions the feet of your
visitors. Trade show carpet has the same effect.
While it might not seem like much to you now,
after a long day navigating the exhibits, your
visitors will certainly notice the increased
comfort. That increased comfort also makes them
more likely to look at their feet and notice the
floor graphics. This win-win combination is one
of the best ways to utilize specialized flooring
at an event.
