when used properly. Rowing with proper form will
allow for better workouts. The improper technique
will cause detriment to the body. To row using a
rowing machine

- Sit down on the seat so that your body is
centered. Your sitting bones on your rear should
be on the seat, with the tops of your hamstrings
just barely on the seat. - Adjust the foot straps so that your toes do not
hang over the edges of the footboards. - Take hold of the handle with both hands. Avoid a
tight grip, and keep your thumbs underneath the
handle (unlike the image). They should be
shoulder width apart. - Sit ready. Sit back on the slide, lean back
slightly, and pull your arms in to your bra line
(or where a bra would be on you.) - Start the stroke. Put your arms out.
- Lean forwards.
- Bend your legs.
- Reverse the motion so you end in your starting
position. Straighten your legs. - Lean back slightly.
- Bring your arms in.
- Repeat.
