Title: What is peace
1What ispeace?
2When you dont want something to happen to you
No war
happiness
kindness
harmony
friendship
3Do you remember children from Toryu Elementary
School in Ehime, Japan asking us to take part in
the Peace Project again this year?
4The school entrance hall now has another display
of photos writing sent from children at
Luckwell.
5Here are some of the crane makers, including
Rachel Kerry who took on the challenge of
making small cranes.
6Their display also has photos prayers from USA
and Australia, the same as last year. They wrote
Thank you very much for your parcel. Today
weve got your wonderful cranes. We have
finished making the display of your cranes. We
look forward to our trip to Hiroshima.
These do not stay in the school entrance hall for
long ...
7The children from Ehime took our messages and
cranes to the Peace monument at Hiroshima.
8The children also sing Sadakos song and other
songs about peace.Sadakos song was written by
the children from Kalgoorlie, Australia.
9Sadakos statue is the monument in the Peace Park
at Hiroshima.
10Cranes you made were taken to Hiroshima took
part in the ceremony.
- The cranes spell out Love Peace

12Ehime wrote We used the cranes you sent to write
the words LOVE WORLD at the ceremony at
Hiroshima
13A survivor of the Hiroshima bombing talks to the
pupils during the ceremony.
14After the ceremony children look at the museum at
Hiroshima, so that the world will remember what
happened, stop it happening again. You are
thinking globally and acting locally.
15When you look at the origami crane in our hall,
remember Sadakos cranes, the Peace Park at
Hiroshima, that there is always something you
can do to be heard.
16When we sell poppies in November, look at the
brass plaques in the Hall, remember that in May
we make cranes for peace - Sadakos cranes -
which join children from all over the world in
the Peace Park at Hiroshima, that your ideas
are heard.
