Introduction
  • The reason why we are doing this experiment is
because we wanted to know more about Brine
Shrimp, also known as Sea Monkeys. Our group
wanted to know how Brine Shrimp are affected by
light. We also wanted to know how they react when
they see different colored lights. We set up an
    experiment to test our question.

3
Do Brine Shrimp react to different colored lights?
4
Hypothesis discussions
  • The Brine Shrimp might be effected by different
    colored lights.
  • The Brine Shrimp might be effected by Red,
    Peach, clear, Pink and Yellow.
  • The Brine Shrimp might be effected by clear
    light.
  • The light will not have any effect on the Brine
    Shrimp.

5
Hypothesis
  • If we test the reaction of Brine Shrimp to
different colored lights, then we expect to see
them react to all types of light.

6
Materials
  • 1 Bowl
  • Air Pump
  • A liter of water
  • Brine Shrimp
  • Flashlight
  • Different colored cellophanes.

7
Procedure
  • Step1-What we did was we first had to grow the
    Brine Shrimp.
  • Step2-Then we had to wait for three weeks for the
    Brine Shrimp to grow.
  • Step3-After waiting for three weeks we tested to
see if they were affected by light.
  • Step4-Finally we came to a conclusion that Brine
Shrimp were affected by different color light.

Data
  • The E on the table represents that they are
effected by light. What we mean by effected is
that the Brine Shrimp only went to the corner
were the brightest light was. The NE on the table
represents that they are not effected by light.
What we observed was recorded on the table. Our
results show that after 100 min there was mostly
NE rather than E on our data. The longer the time
    the least they were effected.

Data/Results

Conclusion
  • In conclusion our hypothesis was mostly correct
because they were effected by most of the light
initially, but then they become not effected.
There were no effect on colors like Blue and
Green. The Brine Shrimp were a great way to
understand how animals react to certain stimuli,
in particular their reaction to light.

11
Reflection
  • The things our group would do differently is not
see if they were affected by light or if they
have eyes to see if they are affected by light.
If the experiment was not preformed then we would
not have anything to show for it and you need
proof to see what you did for your experiment or
what you are talking about when presenting.

acknowledgements
  • We would like to thank Mr. Riccardo for every
thing he did for us and for letting us use the
laptop, room, and for helping us while we were
    doing the experiment.
  • THANK YOU
  • Mr.Riccardo )
