Goals/Objectives
  • GOAL Protect the health, safety and welfare of
    county residents, and the future loss of property
    due to flooding.
  • OBJECTIVE Where appropriate, the County should
    reduce the number of structures as risk from
    flood hazards.

  • Acquisition, demolition, relocation or
    floodproofing of structures within the floodplain
    of the Badger River.

REVIEW PROCESS
  • Complete the Plan
  • The Plan must meet all of the criteria per
    Section 201.6
  • Submit the draft plan to WEM for pre-review
  • Based on WEMs review, make changes and resubmit
    for final review or
  • If draft plan meets criteria, WEM will advise the
    local government to adopt the plan

  • State certification along with adopted plan
    submitted to FEMA for approval
  • FEMA approves plan and provides comments for
    5-year update

PLAN MAINTENANCE
  • Section describing the method and schedule for
    monitoring, evaluating, and updating the plan
  • A process for integrating the plan into other
    planning mechanism (i.e., comprehensive planning,
    etc.)
  • And, how the community will maintain public
    participation in the process
  • Plans must be reviewed, revised, and resubmitted
    every five years for approval
