• What is Small Business Technology Transfer
  (STTR)?
• Companion program to Small Business Innovative
  Research (SBIR) Program
• Incentivize small business involvement in federal
  RD and commercialization of technology through
  working with Universities, Federally Funded
  Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs) and
  other non-profit research institutions

• What is STTR?
• Two phase process
• Phase I NTE 12 month/100,000
• AFOSR has 9 month Phase I
• Phase II NTE 24 month/750,000
• DoD STTR Program Solicitation

• Basic Requirements for STTR Participation
• STTR proposal must be submitted by a team which
  includes a small business (as the prime
  contractor for contracting purposes) and at least
  one research institution
• Project divided such that the small business
  performs at least 40 and the research
  institution(s) performs at least 30 of the work.
  Remainder of the work may be performed by either
  party or a third party.
• Primary Principle Investigator must be either
  primarily employed with the small business or the
  non-profit research institution.
• At the time of award, small business must have at
  least one employee in a management position whose
  primary employment is with the small business and
  who is not also employed by the research
  institution.
• All research must be performed by the small
  business concern and its subs in the U.S.
