motivation
I am interested with fine art
especially when it is modern and contemporary.
Balinese modern art has been evolving significan
tly in the last 10 years. Only a small number of
the artists have formal art education, most of
them works by natural talents, motivated by their
family history also, influenced
by the media and foreign cultures coming into the
country. Because of the pressure of tourism, B
alinese artists naturally try to find
a new style for their work to attract business.

motivation
However, this process also evolves their art to
generally become more contemporary but still has
the cultural essence because it is still a strong
part of their daily life. With a great lack of
exposure, the artworks are undervalued and stay
inside the local markets, or march
a long the streets of Ubud. Despite all the la
ck of appreciation compare to the art development
in the world, they produce great artwork and are
great artists.

to interact with the Balinese modern art using my
knowledge in design, and to learn the reaction of
