This is my family scrapbook. First, I will
introduce my family and then I will talk about
myself my past, my present, my future.
3
My Mom and Dad
Let me first introduce my family!
This is my mom and dad. They like to square
dance, play golf and play pool.
My dad is an electrical engineer and my mom was
a secretary before she retired.
Despite how much fun they seem to have in winter
(see right) they like to spend their winters in
Texas.
4
My Older Sister, Colleen
My sisters name is Colleen. She is a
civil/environmental engineer.
Her fiancé's name is Tyler and he is a mining
engineer.
They like hunting and fishing and camping. They
have a little dog named Daisy.
5
  • Daisy is my
  • niece-puppy.

now working as a mechanical engineer.
Jimmy likes to water-ski and barefoot. He plays
hockey and likes to bike.

restoration.
He fixes up damaged homes and makes them look new
again!
He loves his tools and his guitars.
He also likes moterbikes and tractors.
He sings and plays in a band.
The lovely voice and mandolin-playing youre
hearing is his!

I grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
In high school, I spent a year in Japan as an
exchange student with Rotary International. It
was AWESOME!
And now about me Im the middle child.
After high school, I moved to Ottawa. I studied
linguistics at The University of Ottawa. I
worked part-time at the Ottawa International
Hostel. That was FUN!
Parliament Hill in Ottawa
The Ottawa International Hostel was formerly a
jail, complete with death row, and gallows!
9
Ottawa was a wee bit cold...
so I transferred to the University of British
Columbia.
I didnt do my research though. I learned of the
rain only once I got here!
Even still, I enjoyed my time at UBC. I
completed my undergraduate work while working in
the UBC libraries. Library work was GREAT! I
enjoyed it but it was just to get me through
school.
10
And then I was off to Japan again! This time I
went to teach English with the JET Programme.

The JET Programme A Year in Japan
12
After that year, I came back to Canada and
studied linguistics at the graduate level.
I learned so much at Simon Fraser University and
enjoyed learning how to do experimental research.
But, it wasnt the career for me.
I wondered, What am I going to DOOOOOO?
13
With my dad being an electrical engineer, my
sister being a civil/environmental engineer, her
fiancé being a mining engineer and my brother
being a mechanical engineer... it only made
sense that I continue doing something completely
different! If not linguistics, then....
14
... Librarianship!
15
My Present
  • I am very happy to be a student at the
  • University of British Columbias School of
  • Library, Archival and Information Studies!
  • Im loving it, and its exciting to know that
  • Im going to be a librarian someday!

For fun and for exercise, I have started
learning gymnastics. I LOVE TRAMPOLINING!! It
really IS fun and it really IS good exercise!
I am also learning how to live off of a very very
tight budget! Oddly, Im enjoying this, too!
16
When I can, I like to spend time outdoors. ...
not so much in the city, but rather in a more
natural environment. I like to water-ski and go
four-wheeler riding. I like canoeing, hiking and
swimming.
Brad and I on the tube.
Me at camp
Brad and I after his first water-ski ever.
17
My Future
Who knows what the future holds?
Brad and I hope to move back to Ontario some
day. We miss the natural beauty of
central/northern Ontario.
My career hopes are to work in an academic
library in Northern Ontario.
