Setting

• My book takes me to old Hawaii where there are
  huge waves, gardens, hula dancing, and especially
  surfing.

Main Characters

• The characters are Jack, Annie, Boka, and
  Kamu. Boka and Kamu are from Hawaii. My favorite
  character is Jack. Jack is a smart boy and like
  to research things that he is about to do so he
  can be safe.

My favorite part

• My favorite part in the novel was when Jack
  was surfing with his friends, but when a big wave
  came, he fell off and he was washed up on the
  shore. While he was on the beach he felt an
  earthquake and he knew that tsunami is coming. He
  warned the others and they all hurried towards
  the shore. They also made it back in time. When
  Annie looked back, she saw the tsunami.

The ending

• After the tsunami happened everybody was
  thankful that nobody was hurt. Jack and Annie
  completed their mission and returned to Frog
  Creek Woods in Pennsylvania (their home).

Rewriting the ending

• I would not want the tsunami to happen and
  Jack, Annie, Kamu, and Boka would all be playing
  happily on the beach until it was sunset.

My opinion on the novel

• The novel was exciting and very realistic. It
  was really about old Hawaii and there were
  tsunamis in Hawaii.

About the author

• Mary Pope Osborne grew up in the military and
  when she was 15 she lived in many different army
  posts. Then in 1992 she created a book series
  called the Magic Tree House books. Her books are
  very exciting and she wrote about 40 Magic Tree
  House books already.
