    May 2007 and received the number 0000280545.

The Mission
  • The Polish Womens Lobby is a cooperation tool
    between womens organisations in aid of human
    rights and equal chances for women and men
    concerning family, professional, cultural, social
    and political life.
  • It represents the concerns, needs and interests
    of women in dialogue with national, supernational
    and international institutions. It combats all
    forms of discrimination, violence and social
    inequality against women.
  • In its actions the organisation refers to the
    ideas and achievements of the European Womens
    Lobby as the supernational representant on behalf
    of womens and non-governmental women
    organisations.

The Aims
  • active participation in creating regional,
    national and international policy of gender
    equality.
  • initiating cooperation and exchange of experience
    between national, supernational and international
    womens organisations of non-governmental
    character
  • giving opinion on legal acts of significance to
    the status of women
  • represent Polish womens organisations in the
    European Womens Lobby (EWL)
  • supporting the actions of the member
    organisations

The Aims
  • setting and popularising the acting standards of
    organisations acting in favour of women
  • taking care of equal representation of women in
    decision assemblies
  • putting forward members to representative
    authorities
  • creating friendly cooperation with public
    administration and self-government units at all
    levels

The Structure
  • The Federation acts through its member
    organisations . The members of the Federation
    include
  • common members,
  • supporting members,
  • honorary members.

The Structure
  • The organisational structure of the Federation
    is approved by the General Assembly. The
    authorities of PWL are
  • The General Assembly (ordinary, extraordinary )
  • The Board consisting of 5 9 members, elected
    from the representatives of member organisations
    (President, 2 Vice Presidents and other Board
    members). Invited guests, members of the Expert
    Committee and problem-solving teams, all having
    an advisory voice, may participate in the Boards
    sessions (at least once every three months)
  • The Auditing Committee (a Chairperson and the
    members of the Auditing Committee) consists of 3
    people elected by the General Assembly for 3 years

The Structure
  • The authorities of the District Division, acting
    in the given district, are
  • the General Assembly
  • the Council of the District (shall elect a
    chairperson, treasurer and secretary)
  • the Auditing Committee (shall elect a chairperson
    and a deputy)
  • The Board may create a function of a Federations
    press secretary for promotional purposes.

Activities
  • identifying problems, which require systemic
    solutions, and raising them on the national and
    European scene (including the EWL)
  • implementing the Acting Rules Card of the Polish
    Womens Lobby
  • providing access to the documents of the European
    Union and quick and smooth transfer of
    information between the members of the Federation
    and the EWL
  • monitoring electoral programmes, actions and
    effects of the work of Polish MPs and Polish
    eurodeputies
  • collecting information concerning the relations
    of non-governmental organisations with public
    administration and local government, crucial for
    authentic realisation of the help rule
  • collecting information concerning the actual
    access of nongovernmental womens organisations
    to public finance and, in particular, to the
    structural funds of the European Union
  • working out common position on conducting the
    equality policy by the Government of the Republic
    of Poland and the European Union and announcing
    its contents in national and foreign media
  • doing scientific research, compiling and
    revealing the reports and export opinions
    thematically connected with the realisation of
    statutory aims

  • organising thematic trainings, actions and
    campaigns
  • directing members to work in teams consulting and
    monitoring the implementation of European funds
  • promoting Polish womens organisations in the
    European Womens Lobby and performing an expert
    role towards countries outside the European Union
  • creating conditions enabling the members to
    exchange experience, establish international
    contacts and popularise the proven action models
    and accepted solutions, the so-called Good
    practices
  • conducting actions in favour of legal
    regulations, which are of great importance to
    women, womens societies, non-governmental
    organisations, and monitoring the implementation
    of those regulations and their observance
  • stimulating and animating civic activity among
    women and the Federation members
  • encouraging the mass media to cooperate and
    promote the actions of the Federation

  • The training of all the members of the
    Federation 4 workshops on the general NGO
    issues, the training of public announcements and
    discussion moderation
  • Promotion and information in the media /drawing
    up Polish and English brochures and printing/
    the poster, website updating
  • Improving news circulation information feedback
  • Extending the Federation up to 50 organisations
  • Creating working teams (task teams), dealing
    with international cooperation, inter-membership
    work, education, trainings, courses, public
    relations, research/ monitoring, and other
  • Dissemination of the European Year of Equal
    Opportunities for All national conference in
    Warsaw Parliament

  • Representatives of equality issues in the
    Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, EWL and
    other representative bodies
  • Proposing motions of inclusion into the
    legislative process in the field of social
    policy, with a special emphasis on the human
    rights and the equality issues
  • Preparing a draft version of THE CHART OF RULES
    FOR THE MEMBERSHIP ORGANISATIONS in the
    Federation .
  • Monitoring the Government activities in the field
    of Gender Mainstreaming implementation
  • Gaining funds from NGO Fund mikro project
  • Priority c development of institutional
    abilities of non-governmental organisations
    development of the non-governmental sector or
    another subsidy project
