Early Years

• Born in Rhode Island July 27, 1742
• Greenes family was one of the first settlers in
  Rhode Island
• Nathanael had a great interest in military books
• Nathanael was elected General Assembly of Rhode
  Island in 1770
• He married Catharine Little Field in 1774

Accomplishments

• Greene was Washingtons most trusted man in
  battle
• Greene was made Major General
• During Christmas time he made two victories

Later Years

• Greene took a large burden off of Washington's
  shoulders during battle when he helped
• His duties as a Quartermaster was annoying labor
• He died June 19, 1786 from sunstroke

• Greene Monument erected in Johnston Square,
  Savannah
• He was inducted into the Quartermaster Hall of
  Fame in 1989
