Title: Its Time For Kindergarten
1Its Time For Kindergarten!
- COVENTRY GRAMMAR SCHOOL
- WELCOMES YOU!
2Kindergarten at Coventry Grammar School is a very
exciting time filled with learning together,
sharing together, playing together, and making
new friends.
3Kindergartners arrive at school with happy faces.
Grown-ups meet Kindergartners every day, and
make sure that they find their classrooms. At
the end of each day, grown-ups walk smiling
Kindergartners to their buses.
4The walk to the Kindergarten classrooms is a long
one. There are signs along the way to help.
5As you are walking, watch for the very big word
on the wall that starts with a K. Be sure to
follow the arrow that will point the way.
6Keep walking! One time, you will have to look
way, way up to see the big word. When you do,
you will know you are very, very close to your
classroom.
7There are four Kindergarten teachers at our
school. Your family will get a letter one day
during the summer that will tell your teachers
name. Your teacher might be Ms. Bitwinski
8Ms. Baver
9Mrs. Schardt
10Or Mrs. Smith. No matter who your Kindergarten
teacher is, she will be proud to have you in her
classroom!
11Kindergartners learn new things each and every
day. Kindergartners will learn the sounds that
alphabet letters make, and will be able to put
those sounds into words for reading.
12Kindergartners will learn about numbers and sizes
and shapes and matching.
13Kindergartners will learn about the wonderful
world around them.
14Kindergartners will share stories, songs,
puzzles, and games in their classroom...
15And will enjoy active playtime outdoors. Oh,
what fun!
16Here are some of the other grown-ups who
Kindergartners will learn from at Coventry
Grammar School. Classroom helpers are Mrs.
Lewis, Mrs. Carroll, and Mrs. Darling.
17Kindergartners will have Art with Mrs. DuBois
once a week. She will help Kindergartners make
many beautiful Art projects together.
18Kindergartners will have Music with Mr. Careau
once a week. He has many fun songs to teach.
Some are silly, too.
19Mrs. Caldwell teaches Physical Education class to
Kindergarteners each week. Sports and games
indoors and out are everyones favorites!
20Mr. Lowman and Mrs. Christie invite
Kindergartners into the Library each week for a
story and to take books out for reading at home.
Parents can borrow books from the Library, too.
21Mrs. Curtiss, the school nurse, will take very
good care of you if you are not feeling well.
22The principal, Mrs. Moyer, will greet you with a
smile so that you will know how welcome and safe
you are at Coventry Grammar School.
23Are you ready to be a Kindergartner?
24Sure you are!
