Ocean Life

• The ocean is the home of millions of different
  fish!
• Just like in Finding Nemo, there are fish who
  like their homes to be coral reefs. One fish who
  lives in a coral reef is a clown fish (such as
  Nemo).

• The ocean is a home to our favorite mammals
• Dolphins
• Whales
• Seals

Going Fishing

• Much of what we eat comes from the ocean.
• -crabs
• -shrimp
• -tuna fish
• -lobster
• -even algae!!!

Plants and other Life

• Sponges, reefs, and shells are all deep under the
  ocean!

Life Under the Sea!

• The sponges under the ocean are different than
  the ones we use to sponge paint. They look alike,
  but there are sponges that are alive and live
  around the reefs.
• Here is a real sponge (passes it around the
  class). It looks a lot different than SpongeBob!

Shedd Aquarium

• Lets take a look at some of the creatures we
  might see when we take our field trip to the
  Shedd Aquarium next week! At journal time, draw
  or write about two animals or plants that we
  talked about that youd like to see. (We will
  explore the Shedd site and look at the animals we
  are going to see)
