  • We believe that every child has the right to an

  • Cromwell Elementary Schools staff is committed
    to providing an atmosphere where every child will
    be actively involved in learning and challenged
    to his/her highest potential. Innovative teaching
    techniques, modern technology and risk taking
    experiences will be combined to meet the
    educational, emotional, physical and social needs
    of each child.

Philosophy Statement
  • A positive school climate will guide social and
    academic growth for all students. Positive
    school-wide behavior management is necessary if
    learning is to take place. Cromwells discipline
    plan incorporates positive school-wide behavior
    management, successful interventions and the
    training of students in procedures.
  • We must provide opportunities for children to
    make appropriate behavioral choices. Our
    expectations for students behavior must be
    taught and reviewed frequently.
  • When handling behavior issues we must remember
    the importance of establishing strong positive
    relationships with students. We must respond to
    all situations in a caring and professional
    manner.

  • Implement ISS as an alternative to home
    suspensions when applicable

  • Arrival
  • Students eating breakfast will line up
  • Students not eating should sit in a designated
    place by grade level
  • Teachers will pick up their classes
  • Changing classes
  • Walk quietly on the right side of the hallway or
    sidewalk, in a straight line accompanied by
    teacher
  • Restroom breaks
  • Restroom breaks before support classes
  • Teachers who are in portables should allow
    students to use the restroom in their classroom
  • Staggered restroom breaks

  • Color coded hall passes

  • Each student must have his/her own pass
  • Cafeteria
  • Children will be escorted quietly by their
    teacher to the serving line door

  • Car riders will be dismissed at 310
  • Walkers and daycare riders will be dismissed at
    315 bell

    assignments

    and orderly to designated area outside without
    talking and wait for instruction

    and position themselves in the hallway with hands

  • Rules for asking for help and cooperative groups
    are up to individual teachers
  • Every Tuesday folders are sent home which include
    conduct reports, graded papers and other
    important information

    for each day of good behavior. When the words
    are spelled out completely, the class receives a
