2007 Dance Update

Initial thoughts on the dance are that it was a
great success. The were doubts about the venue
but Stuart believed it would work out and I think
it did. Here are the winners on the night. (Full

Possible Changes in Athletics. UK Athletics are
currently considering making some amendments to
the structure of athletics and athletics
competition. An initial major change could be
the age groups changing from Under 11, 13, 15 etc
to Under 12, 14, 16 18. Watch this space for
info. !!!

Cross Country Dates There are a huge number of
Cross Country events across the country during
the winter. See Scottish athletics website your
PB Magazine for details. Here are some main

Irvine 23/02/08 Scottish National XC Champs
Falkirk Dont forget the World Cross Country
Championships will be held in Edinburgh on 30th
March 2008. If you want to see the best in the
World you will never get a better chance.
Commonwealth Games Result The winning City in
the bid to host the Commonwealth Games in 2014
will be announced in Sri Lanka at lunchtime on
Friday 9th November. There are a few events going
on in Glasgow on the day with an official party
in the Salt Market. I have applied for Club
tickets but no news yet. Other events are at
Scotstoun and in Glasgows East End where the
athletes village is planned. Why not get
yourself along and hopefully Glasgow will win.
AND FINALLY The date of the Club AGM is due to
announced very soon and we ask for your full
support. The Club is being run by an ever
decreasing number of people. Your involvement can
be as much or as little as you want. The main
posts that require filling urgently are
Treasurer, Team Manager (s) bus convenor and kit
conveynor. In most of the cases above the
athletes of the parent holding the posts has left
and as you would expect the parent having no
involvement in the Club has also resigned.
Please support the Club by attending the AGM.
