  • Who is a Member?
  • Active Justify such membership through
    volunteer hours for signature project undertaken
    by S60C
  • Sustainer Those members who have fulfilled 5
    years of active membership and have expressed a
    desire for sustaining status
  • Honorary Sustainer For those who have shown
    outstanding service to the community and wish to
    support S60C at the initial start-up through
    advisement and monetary contribution

  • Requirements for Active Membership
  • Attend 80 of all regularly scheduled meetings of
    S60C
  • Actively participate and serve on a committee and
    attend 75 of such committee meetings
  • Support S60Cs Signature Project by participating
    in 9 volunteer opportunities per year
  • Attend one training session per year
  • Attend one One Day Wonder per year
  • Support one S60C Event per year
  • Support Suffolk 60 Care through annual membership
  • dues of 150

  • Discusses and recommends Suffolk 60 Care policies

  • Maintains a high profile at all Suffolk 60 Care

    of the Suffolk 60 Care, President,

S60C Communications
  • Communications Committee
  • Conveys Suffolk 60 Care information to S60C
    members
  • Disseminates all S60C information to the public
  • Compiles and writes quarterly S60C newsletter
  • Assists with the creation and maintenance of
    the S60C website
  • Assists with the S60C handbook

  • Events Committee
  • Oversees the planning and managing special
    events to raise funds for S60C to disburse to the
    Suffolk community through the Grants process
  • Manages the process for outside organizations
    to solicit Suffolk 60 Care members to partner
    with their events for community exposure

  • Develops and organizes forums/training to keep
    Suffolk 60 Care members informed about Suffolk
    community issues
  • Solicits feedback regarding issues of interest
    to S60C members
  • Coordinates leadership development seminars for
    S60C members including speakers for the General
    Membership Meetings
  • Chairman of the leadership committee shall
    serve as parliamentarian

    members to the Board for review
  • Compiles and maintains the Membership Handbook
  • Records attendance of members at events, at
    volunteer opportunities, and at general
    membership meetings
  • Assists with solicitation and retention of
    members

S60C Projects
  • Projects Committee
  • Researches, recommends and coordinates S60Cs
    involvement in projects that will have an impact
    on Suffolk and impact on the success of Suffolk
    60 Care.
  • Researches, recommends and coordinates One Day
    Wonder volunteer activities.
  • Coordinates volunteer projects, times and hours
    to ensure the project selection is indicative of
    the members interest and is flexible to allow
    for adequate opportunity to participate.
  • Evaluates the credit earned for each project in
    conjunction with the Membership Committee.
  • Acts as a liaison between members and
    representatives of the selected project where
    volunteer work is performed
  • The Grants Committee, a subcommittee of
    Projects, oversees all Grants requests from the
    Suffolk community and submits the information to
    S60Cs membership for the group vote

  • Lawn care resulting in a monetary savings for the

  • Craft supplies for the Shelter
  • Art Class assistance hours for the Youth Center
  • Hand-made blankets for seriously ill children
  • Used cell phones to be refurbished for domestic
    abuse victims
