Geothermal Energy

• Geothermal Energy is superheated steam from the
  mantle of the Earth that is used to spin a
  turbine. This form of gathering electricity is
  even more effective than nuclear production at
  this point. Because of the Pacific Ring of Fire,
  the U.S is the number one producer of Geothermal
  energy.

Geothermal Sources

• Geothermal energy sources are found around the
  world. However they are mainly gathered around
  the Pacific Ocean in geyser clusters. In 1999,
  60 of the worlds energy was attained from
  Geothermal plants

Geothermal Process

• First, the superheated steam and water is
  transported through a long pipe to a chamber
  where the water is turned to steam creating a
  great deal of pressure. The steam is then given a
  chance to escape, though a tube that leads to a
  large turbine. The energy in the vapor then spins
  the turbine very quickly creating electricity.
  The runoff vapor is released back into the mantle
  or let out into the atmosphere.
• (No this doesnt pollute. This just causes
  clouds to be produce more rapidly in the affected
  area.)

Geothermal Future

• Geothermal energy is a non-pollutant form of
  electricity that is extremely effective. This
  fact makes the geothermal energy very attractive
  when possible, with many plants planed to be
  built in the near future.
