being a hazard to the safety of air navigation - AirServices role is the control and
administration of airspace being used by aircraft
3What is the meaning of a Firework Display?
Part 101.485 defines a firework display asA
person who operates a firework display, if the
person places the fireworks for the display, or
fires them off.
4Part 101.490 When is an Approval Needed?
If a projectile is capable of reaching above 400
feet above ground level
5Part 101.495(1) (2) - Approvals
- An Approval is required when a firework display
is in or over - An Aerodrome Runway or Movement Area
- The Approach or Departure Path of a Runway of an
Aerodrome
6Part 101.495(3) - Permissions
- A Permission is required when a firework display
is at - An Aerodrome Controlledby Air Traffic
Control(ATC) or - Other Aerodromes Controlledby CASA
7Part 101.495(4) Domestic Premises
Approval is not required if a firework display is
set off on or near domestic premises by or for
someone who lives there
8When is Notification Required?
- Part 101.500 states that CASA requires at least
two working days notification if the firework
display is - 3 nautical miles or 5kmof an aerodrome
- Set off on or near adomestic premises by orfor
somebody who livesthere

10CASA may impose conditions
- Part 101.500(4) states CASA may impose a
condition on the operation of a firework display
if the condition is reasonably necessary in the
interest of the safety of air navigation - Part 101.500(5) states A person operating a
display must comply with any conditions imposed
by CASA
