Informative Essay
The first thought that goes through your head
when you hear of a genocide is holy crap and how
could you do this. Its really quite simple, be
the leader of a country that is in a financial
down spin. That is what Adolf Hitler did in
blaming the Jews for all the economic problems
that Germany was going through.   Hitler did
every unthinkable thing to the Jews to pay them
back so to speak. He originally placed the Jews
in ghettos. The world turned their heads. Oh
thats not so bad. Next were the work camps.
Again the world turned their heads. Oh, they
say, its cheap labor for Hitler. Then at the
work camps Hitler began to systematically
eliminate the Jews. This the world didnt see.
Hitler clamed that he wasnt doing anything wrong
so why hid it. When the American people first saw
what was going on they were probably disgusted.
There are still to this day people that say the
Holocaust never even happened. They say that it
was all made up by our government to get support
for post-war rebuilding.

Then there are the people who could never
have believed that people were capable of doing
such a thing. These were the people hit the most
by it. The way people were treated was so
unthinkable cruel that we wonder why or how. Many
of the first Americans to see the horror were
themselves of Jewish decent. This was probably a
real shell shock.
