LESSONS LEARNED
  • The F-Diagramme is an effective tool in
initiating and sustaining discussion on water
    sanitation and hygiene issues.
  • Formal education is no barrier to understanding
    sanitation and hygiene issues.
  • The F-Diagram breaks down socio-cultural barriers
    regarding faecal issues.

10
LESSONS LEARNED
  • The F-Diagramme tool can catalyse CLTS
  • Identification of applicable tools consistent
with the principles of community participation is
important in effective sanitation, hygiene and
    behavioural change promotion

11
Recommendation
  • Though PHAST is an effective tool it should be
    customised to each culture
  • Before entering a community/area, the settlement
patterns need to be taken into consideration for
    effective planning and communication.

12
CONCLUSION
  • The F-Diagram gives a visual explanation and
understanding of the link between open defecation
and health status of community members

13
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
  • World Vision USA Conrad N. Hilton Foundation
for funding the water, sanitation and hygiene for
