School was finally over and summer was here in
the small town of Coudersport. The well-known
Osborne family was going on a vacation to
Shenandoah Valley.

They packed their bags and put them in the truck
bed. Then they locked up the house and farm and
set off for the mountains. They pulled out a map
on the way there to try and find a rest stop.

They stopped at the nearest rest stop, which was
about 70 miles up the road. When they got there,
it said it was the rest stop for people going to
Maine! They were going the wrong way. They
headed back down to Pennsylvania and stopped at
a place called Holiday Inn. They stayed there for
the night and decided how far they should go and
where they should stop the next day.

The next day they went to the campsite they were
going to stay at. They had a horrible time
getting there. When they went in the small office
near the entrance, the manager told them
everything that was going on that week.

They had a swimming pool open on Monday,
Wednesday and Friday. They also had hot tubs open
everyday from 1200 to 300. They had a store by
the office, a game room in an old barn , a water
fall and a river. They also had a playground, a
fishing pond, a huge hill to climb and a mile
long trail. Every Friday they had a big party at
the barn.

They decided to go and set up camp first. Then
they would search for fire wood to start a fire.
They also wanted to go to the store and look
around to find something to start a fire with,
like a box of matches.

After they set up. they got in their bathing
suits. They rented some tubes from the store and
went tubing down the river. They each got a
different color tube.

By the time they got back it was almost dark and
they decided to light a fire and roast
marshmallows. They also had some hotdogs to roast
for dinner.

Every day they did a fun activity and came home
tired. They even went to the party on Friday.
They had a lot of fun. Early Saturday morning
they left. When they got home they were very
tired. They went straight to bed. When they woke
up they started to plan another fun vacation at
the campsite.
