Title: Travelling with friends

1
John Dorman an American Hero
  • Life doesn't need to be complicated - and I've
    worked
  • hard to remove the clutter. But
  • sometimes, folks don't allow you to live simply.
    In Soufriere
  • I hear lots of suppositions and
miss-suppositions, here say and they say about
me. I will try to set the record in order .I was
born on the Island of Saint Lucia,, life on the
Island was simply wonderful .Kids then believed
in fairies ,in the man in the moon, witches. and
what have you, St. Lucia was better back in the
1950s and we'd be better off if our Island was
still like that. Well I'm sure it seems that way
for those of us that lived in the 50s. I can
assure you how simple and innocent life was
then. In the 1950s, 50 of the native
Lucians lived below the poverty line but that did
not matter , because we were a happy bunch of
happy people. I remember the time of the Hula
Hoops, Poddle Skirts and Elvis Presley oh yes
those were the good old days. Then came the 60s
and I started to dream and dream I did some were
    even wet.
  • 1966 I commenced to follow my dreams in 1967 I
was in the USVI in 1969 with the assistance of
Mr.Fonty of Geest Industries I landed A sailing
Job aboard the MS. BRUNSHOEFT sailing the
world.1972 I migrated to the Continental USA in
search of my financial fortunes. America was
going through a cultural revolution the Deep
    Throat revelation and the wiretapping
controversies bring to mind Watergate, and a very
unpopular war in Viet Nam which would play a
    vital role in my life.

2
A PROUD HONORABLE VIETNAM ERA VETERAN
  • On January 15 1973 America was in search for few
brave men to fight in Viet Nam.Without
consideration I gave up the comforts of home and
answered the call to combat. Looking back at
yesteryear , I kinda appreciate more and
more what a great thing   it was to be a United
States Soldier. The Jane Fondas of America will
tell you what a shame it was( they called us
    baby killers )
  •    .   I am a proud Viet Nam Era Veteran and
I'll be one till I die."

3
My Army Scholarship
  • The Army offered several opportunities to attend
classes while serving as an Active Duty or Army
Reserve Soldier. Whether it's in an accredited
four-year universities across the nation, through
an online university or in high-tech learning
facilities on Army posts, the Army enabled us
Soldiers to continue our educational growth And
that is exactly what I did .In 1995 I graduated
    from Triton College of Nursing.

4
Early retirement
  • In 1981 when I wasnt having wet dreams I was
dreaming about retiring at age 40 but owing to
the lack of positive advice I was unable to
attain this goal. In 1992 I meet Ida Miller,
Orest Burdiack and Paul Johnson better known as
Mr. Conservative . I from them extracted a wealth
of financial investment information that would
pay dividends in the future for me.
  • A few of us would like to retire early
tomorrow, for example I had to wait a little
longer. Thanks a million to the above names
mentioned who showed me the tricks and
encouragement, plus the fact that I was a good
student when it came down to money management.( I
stayed away from the hairy banks, night clubs and
    the department stores)

5
Hard work has it rewards
  • Using dollar cost averaging, dividend
reinvestment, participating in the TSP Program at
work and a few real estate investment deals
Sophia and I have realized our financial goal
with over 7 figures in assets Soufriere folks,
please dont cry for me theres no need for me
    to search for employment.

I have traveled throughout Western Europe.  I
have lived in Germany, France and South Wales
England .  I now take up residence in Soufriere
Saint Lucia .  Among my favorite cities are
Venice, Hamburg, Amsterdam , Paris ,Barcelona,.
One of my favorite is Nice and Monaco which is
quiet, clean and the mountain scenery is
breathtaking.
141
Sunset As the sun casts its autumnal glow on
the Grand Canal , it's the perfect time to
recognize the enchanting and magical beauty of
Venice. It is the picture perfect place to
rekindle your romance.Sunset on the Grand Canal
