Symptoms

• Redness in the face most commonly in discrete
  areas of the buccal area
• Telangiectasia when the capillaries on the
  surface of the skin dilate. Aka Spider veins.

Symptoms Continued

• A bulbous and red nose, sometimes even
  rhinophyma.
• Crusty or oozing skin eruptions, similar to acne
  breakouts
• A burning or stinging feeling in face
• Bloodshot or irritated eyes

Treatment/Prevention

• There is no know cure, only prevention.

• Use sunscreen
• Avoid hot weather
• Reduce stress as much as possible
• Lessen consumption of alcoholic and spicy foods
• Surgery is available for enlarged nose
• Some doctors prescribe antibiotics or topical
  medications that may help

Causes

• Unknown! But trends show that it is more common
  if you
• Are fair skinned
• Blush easily
• Are female.
• Most common between the ages 30 to 50

• It is not detrimental to your health only is
  negative for ones self esteem and appearance for
  some

• Steroids can worsen rosacea
