6ERA SAN Environment2001Current Disk Space
- New environment currently has one cabinet with
two HSG80 storage arrays. - With a combination of 18GB and 36GB drives we
have approximately 3.9 terabytes, of
whichbecause of RAID configurationsapproximately
2.2 terabytes are usable disk space.

9ERA SAN Environment2002Additional Hardware and
Disk Space
- One additional cabinet with two HSG80 storage
arrays has been ordered, in addition to 26 72GB
drives. - The total disk space will be increased to 5.7
terabytes. - Usable additional space will depend on filesystem
RAID configuration.

14ERA SAN Environment2002Total Possible Disk
Space Capacity
- The SAN will have approximately160 empty slots
across the four HGS80 storage arrays. - Depending on disk size application requirements,
if SAN is filled to capacity, it will have a
minimum additional 2.8 terabytes (all 18GB
drives) to a maximum additional 11 terabytes (all
72GB drives). - Usable space will depend on filesystem size
requirements and RAID configuration.

17Progress on Database Migrationsto the New
EnvironmentPart 1
- Development, Test Training Migrated To ES40-SAN
(Cathy, Nora, Ramesh, Xiaoping, Lhadj) - Installed Oracle v8.1.7.2.1 running under Compaq
TruCluster 64 Unix v5.1 (Xiaoping, Lhadj) - Firewall Access Rules implemented on 12/10/01
CIT OPS - Testing of access via client-server apps, web
apps and reporting apps to commence on 12/11/01 - All Databases functional and operational.
- Development, Test and Training Summary Statements
and - Grant Images copied to ES40-SAN (Ramesh)
- To be opened up to developers and testers on
12/11/01
18Progress on Database Migrationsto the New
EnvironmentPart 2
- Hardware configuration and tests on the GS160-San
completed. (Cathy, Nora, Mike, COMPAQ) - Production IMPACII (impprd) and IRDB (irdbprd)
migrated to new GS160-San environment on a trial
basis. (Ramesh, Lhadj, Xiaoping) - Migration accommodated into enhanced directory
structure for the database datafiles (Ramesh). - Clonset of IMPACII and IRDB taken and all
database datafiles copied (migrated) to the new
GS160-SAN. Both databases are functional and
operational. (Ramesh, Lhadj) - Database scripts and crontabs (cronjobs) being
migrated. (Xiaoping) - Bridge(s) being set up and tested (Barbara)
- Firewall Access Rules implemented on 12/10/01

BFILE Index Creation ongoing (John) - Oracle tnsnames connectivity configuration across
middle tier servers to be completed 12/11/01
(Ramesh, Ranvir). - Summary Statements and Grant Images scheduled to
be Copied on 12/11/01 (Nora) - Open GS160-San environment to testers on 12/12/01
