Single Pole Switch

• Used to control a light from one location

3 way Switch

• Used to control a light from 2 locations has 3
  terminals
• Example Light switch at each end of hall
• Use 2 3-way switches together
• Dark color terminal is common
• The 2 brass screws are called travelers

4 Way Switch

• Has 4 terminals
• Used with 2 3-way switches in order to operate
  the same lights from 3 separate locations

Receptacle

• Correct terminology for plug in

Service Entrance Panel

• The origin of the electrical service for a
  location. Sometimes referred to as the breaker
  box

Main Disconnect

• A switch that allows for the entire service to be
  turned off at one time.
• For example, if a house caught fire, you could
  turn off one switch and the whole house would go
  off
• Emergency shop disconnects like ours
