• The capital city of British Columbia is Victoria.
  The major cities are Vancouver, Kelowona,
  Kamloops, Prince George and Nanaimo. The floral
  emblem is the Pacific Dogwood. The flag of
  British Columbia shows a Union Jack at the top
  and blue and white wavy lines that represent the
  Pacific Ocean and a sun that represents the sun
  that rises in the west. The shield is the same
  as the flag, a sun and blue and white wavy lines
  and the Union Jack.
• The first person to canoe down the Bella Coola
  River was Alex Mackenzie and his group of
  natives in 1793. Alex Mackenzie was the first
  white person to canoe all the way into the
  Pacific Ocean. In 1858 lots of gold was found
  along Fraser River. In 1871 British Columbia
  became an official province of Canada. In 1887
  the first train arrives in Vancouver.
• The main resources are fishing, mining, forestry,
  agriculture and manufacturing.
