Project Plan (4 Stages)
  • Stage 1 Replicate a completely operational
    BlueSkyRAINS system at SHRMC
  • Stage 2 Coordinate with EPA, states, and
counties in the Southeast to inject available
    emissions data into BSR.
  • Stage 3 Evaluate and improve the systems
documentation package based on the results of
    Stages 1 2.
  • Stage 4 Establish a national data server and
    begin coordinated implementation with other
    FCAMMS and EPA regions.

3
Stage 1 SHRMC Implementation
  • All SHRMC meteorological products are in a format
    that BSR can accept.
  • SHRMC will develop and implement a computer
    hardware/data flow operational plan for
    multiple-user access.
  • SHRMC will construct dedicated servers that will
link to the operational 32-processor cluster.
These servers will house BlueSkyRAINS and host a
    dedicated BlueSkyRAINS web site.

4
Stage 1 SHRMC Data manager/IT Specialist
  • Assist the Systems Analysts in the installation
    of BlueSkyRAINS,
  • Ensure BlueSkyRAINS remains operational by
    troubleshooting any hardware and/or software
    problems,
  • Re-install BlueSkyRAINS on SHRMC computers when
    upgrades become available,
  • Manage the flow of data through SHRMC so that
    BlueSkyRAINS will operate without disruption.

5
Stage 2 SHRMC Coordination
  • populate BlueSkyRAINS with available emissions
data from prescribed and agricultural burns.
  • SHRMC will host a workshop to identify those
states and counties that already have automated
reporting systems that can link to BlueSkyRAINS.
  • SHRMC will sponsor an emissions workshop to
bring together parties interested in the
    automation of burn permitting programs.

Questions
  • What is EPA Region 4 role in the BSR proposal?
  • Will BSR be operated through EPA Region 4
    offices?
  • Will EPA Region 4 devote personnel to the BSR
    effort in the Southeast?
