LEARNING OUTCOMES

• To recognize, identify and apply basic
  terminology within various health settings
• To correctly interpret commonly used terminology
  using word roots, prefixes and suffixes for a
  variety of conditions and procedures
• To relate and identify anatomical structures of
  the body and have a beginning understanding of
  simple physiology of various body systems
• Interpret and relate commonly used medical
  abbreviations
• Identify appropriate sources of information
• Relate and apply policies regarding
  confidentiality when working within health care
  settings.

COURSE OVERVIEW
Anterior/posterior

• The course will cover
• Day 1.
• Anatomical direction mapping of body- commonly
  used terminology used to identify anatomical
  direction.
• Identify terminology used to classify diseases
  and various health care areas
• Construction of medical terminology using word
  roots, prefixes and suffixes to construct and
  interpret terminology

• Overview of anatomy related to musculo-skeletal
  system bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments
