• When writing down prognosis medical staff have to
  have a common language
• Or your medical file would read as patient
  complaint was tum-tum hurt or hard stuff was
  removed from stomach
• By using Latin prefixes, roots and suffixes the
  above conditions can be written in simple terms
  dysgastro, gastroplasty

• There are some rules though to using medical
  terminology
• Prefixes and roots are put together with little
  alteration
• When adding a suffix an O can be added to the
  root to make the word easier to pronounce
• Add an O only when the suffix starts with a
  consonant
