High speed passenger craft training syllabus
program course and outlinethis training is
required by the imo ,hsc codefor operators of
vessel capable of traveling at speed in 30 knots
while carrying 50 or more passenger many of the
specific items are listed in chapter 18 of the
hsc codethe program id designed to boost a high
level of skill of master and crewmembers for the
assessment process

  • Chapter 7 fire and safety
  • Part A
  • 7.1 General Requirements
  • maintenance of the main function safety ,fire
    detection , alarms , fire extinguishing
  • 7.2- fire resisting divions , formed by
    bulkheads and decks must be fire restricting
    materials
  • 7.3- classification of space use , machinery
    spaces , galleys , Ro Ro spaces , spaces
    containing dangerous goods , store rooms
    containing flammable liquids , bound store ,
    sales shops , crew accommodation , cargo spaces ,
    fuel tank , public spaces
  • 7.4- structural fire protection hull ,
    superstructure , bulkheads , decks , deckhouses
    must be materials

  • 7.5 fuel and other flammable fluid tanks and
    systems
  • 1-tanks must be separated from passenger
  • 2- Fuel tanks shall not be in formed by any parts
    of the structural
  • 3-fule oil pipe shall be fitted with valve in
    case of damage 4-pipes valves and coupling shall
    be of steel or alternative material
    satisfactory to standard

  • 1- the inlet and out let shall be capable of

    independent ventilation
  • 4- fire dumper located in the lower end of the
    duct and upper automatically and remotely
    operated

    the exhaust fans and supply fans

  • 7.7 fire detection and extinguishing system
  • 1-fire detection system ,crew accommodation ,
    public spaces , enclosed spaces , with approved
    automatic smoke detection and manually operated.
  • 2- the fire detection and fire alarm manually
    operated system shall be capable of immediate
    operation at all time
  • 3- power supplies and electric circuits for
    operation of the system
  • 5- there shall be tow sources of power supply
  • 6- the control panel shall be located in the
    operating compartment or in the main fire control
    station
  • 7- detectors shall be operated by heat

    any purpose

    and marked enclosure outside the deckhouse and

  • 4- each door to be closed and open form each side
    of the bulkhead by one person only

  • 7.11 Arrangement
  • 1-The public spaces shall be divided into zones
  • 2- at least tow zones not exceed 40 m
  • 7.12 Ventilation
  • Each zone shall be served by independent
    ventilation
  • 7.13 fixed sprinkler system
  • Crew accommodation , public spaces , storage
    rooms

  • Requirements for cargo craft
  • 7.14 control station life-saving appliances
    stowage position ,escape routes , embarkation
    ,shall be located to crew accommodation areas
  • 7.15 cargo spaces shall be provide with approved
    automatic smoke detection system
  • 7.16 fixed sprinkler system crew accommodation ,
    cargo spaces and drainage of water discharged
    system is activated

  • Life-saving appliances and arrangements
  • 8.1 general and definitions
  • 1- LSA shall be accordance with requirements of
    4.7 and 4.8
  • 2-The administration shall ensure LSA and
    arrangement

  • 1- lifebuoy shall be provided with 30 m lines ,
    light , smoke
  • 2- lifejacket complying with requirement

  • 4- immersion suit complying with requirement

  • 2- action the must take in emergency

  • 1- shall be stowed to permit release from their
    securing

    embarkation station

    water on to survival craft
  • 6- life raft shall be stowed with its painter
