Title: Basic Gene Mapping Course
1Basic Gene Mapping Course
- November 9-13, 2009Max Delbrück Center for
Molecular MedicineBerlin, Germany
Emphasis Strategies for genetic mapping of human
Mendelian and complex traits, covering both
theory and applied exercises. Computer exercises
will be carried out using a variety of programs
(LINKAGE, MERLIN, GENEHUNTER, ALLEGRO, SLINK,
PLINK, etc). Topics Parametric methods allele
sharing (nonparametric) linkage admixture, data
quality control, analysis of genome wide
association study data, tagSNP selection,
controlling for substructure/population
admixture, sample size and power estimation,
controlling family wise error rate.
