• Unique Needs of Pinellas County
• 1. Employer needs identified for IT managers,
  teachers, and BSN prepared nurses
• 2. Pinellas 67 of 67 counties in Baccalaureate
  access
• 3. Geographic uniqueness a peninsula with
  heavy traffic volume
• 4. Need for AS graduates to a have a smooth AS
  to BAS or BSN transfer option

STATE AND FEDERAL RESPONSE

• Community College System (CCS) strategic plan on
  Baccalaureate access solutions branches
  partnerships distance learning community
  colleges directly (Florida 49th Pinellas 67th
  among counties)
• Two hundred AS programs statewide and only five
  AS to Bachelors articulation agreements

• Legislature chose to also support a few niche
  Bachelors directly in high need areas IT
  (22,000), Nursing (critical), Teacher Education
  (162,000 shortage in ten years)
• Federal support for the online and partnership
  responses at St. Petersburg College (Project
  Eagle)

• The pay schedule is the same for all SPC Faculty

  possess a PhD in Nursing
• Adjunct Faculty possess a minimum of a MSN,
