his father, which was now president, changed the
appointed decision to be minister in Prussia( 95)

after returning form Portugal after being a

Decisions I
  • A. John Quincy Adams decided to obtain only the
westward extension of the Cumberland Road into
Ohio and the construction f the Chesapeake and
    Ohio Canal.(Degregorio 99)
  • B. John Quincy Adams made this decision because
he stated that he was going to improve the
conditions of those who are parties of the social
compact. If he did not show that he stood by his
word then it would cause conflict. He also made
this decision because it was not much
    transportation. (Degregorio 99)
  • C. John Quincy Adams made this decision because
there was not much transportation ways, he made
it clear that he was going to improve the social
impact, and lastly he wanted to make sure he did
    something reflecting his campaign. (Degregorio
    99)
  • D. If John Quincy Adams had not made this
decision then it might be where we would still
have poor transportation ways. We also would not
have roads to travel on to get to a certain
    point.

7
Decision II
  • A. John Quincy Adams signed a bill saying that
the Creek and Cherokee Indian nations had to be
moved from Georgia to west of the Mississippi
    River.(Coelho 6165)
  • B. John Quincy Adams was feeling pressure form
his peers to move the Native Americans. He had
also formerly wanted to move them
    elsewhere.(Coelho 6165)
  • C. Plantation owners and politicians were trying
to convince him. The Indian nations were on good
farming land so if they moved than it would be
more land for the American expansion.(Coelho
    6165)
  • D. If the Native American had not been moved than
not as many people would have died. Also, the
Cherokee and Creek would still be living in
    Georgia. .(Coelho 6165)

Decision III
  • A. The decision that John Quincy Adams made for
this problem is that he made taxes for imported
    items.(173)
  • B. The government needed money for improvements
such as roads and canals. John Q. Adams decided
to have high taxes on imports to solve this
problem. He also wanted money for a National
    University. (173)
  • C. Three reasons that he made this decision is
that he wanted more canals. He wanted more roads
and canals. He also wanted an National
    University.(173)
  • D. The United States of America may not have had
roads or canals if John Quincy Adams had not made
    this decision.

9
Decision IIII
  • A. John Quincy Adams avoided the issue or
protective tariffs. in the South, which benefited
the Northern colonies, but damaged the economy of
    the Southern colonies.(67)
  • B. To avoid political disaster, Adams avoided the
issue. This is because3 if he opposed the
protection, he would get support from the South.
IF he agreed to veto some of the tariffs,
including the Tariff of Abominations, he would
    upset the North.(67-68)
  • C. Adams made the decision to avoid the
complaints from the South for three reasons, for
one, he did not want political disaster to occur.
If he opposed the tariffs, he would gain southern
support. Also, if he had decided to take sides,
the Jacksons would gain support. (67-68)
  • D. If Adams avoid the complaints from the South,
then he would have gained some support, and the
same time, lose some support, giving Martha Van
    Buren, a Jacksonaoan, a political
    advantage.(67-68)
