Title: Why Read

1
Why Read?
  • To.. To escape to another place!
  • By William Farrell

2
  • Have you ever wished
  • you could cast a spell?

3
Title of book and author
  • The book I read was Harry Potter and the
    sorcerers stone.
  • Its author was J.K. Rowling.

4
If I had to rename it,I would call it Magic boy
and the magic rock
5
Summary
  • Harry potters parents are killed so he is sent
to live with his mean aunt and uncle. They dont
care about him and they make him live under the
stairs . One day a letter comes to his aunts
house, he is not allowed to read it. More letters
come and finally he finds out the secret, he is a
wizard. He goes to a special school for wizards
where everything is far from normal.

Whats everybody saying?
  • Rowling's first novel, which has won numerous
prizes in England, is a brilliantly imagined and
    beautifully written fantasy that incorporates
elements of traditional British school stories
without once violating the magical underpinnings
of the plot. In fact, Rowling's wonderful ability
to put a fantastic spin on sports, student
rivalry, and eccentric faculty contributes to the
humor, charm, and, well, delight of her utterly
    captivating story. ((Reviewed September 15,
    1998)) -- Michael Cart
  •
  • Harry himself is the perfect confused and
unassuming hero, whom trouble follows like a
wizard's familiar. After reading this entrancing
fantasy, readers will be convinced that they,
too, could take the train to Hogwarts School, if
only they could find Platform Nine and Three
Quarters at the King's Cross Station.-Eva
    Mitnick, Los Angeles Public Library

7
You might like this book if you like..
  • Fantasy because its a fiction book about a
    fantasy land
  • Magic because the book is about magic
  • Fiction because nothing is true and anything can
    happen

8
If you like this book you might also like.
  • IF you liked reading this book you might also
like reading The wizard in the woods, A plague of
sorcerers, and the wizards dilemma. They are all
about wizards and magic, and you never know what
    might happen.
