About Moscow

• Moscow is the capital and the largest city of the
  Russian Federation.
• It is also the largest city in Europe, along with
  the Moscow metropolitan area.
• It is ranking among the largest urban areas in
  the world .
• Moscow is a major economic centre is home to the
  largest number of billionaires in the world.
• Moscow was also named the worlds most expensive
  city for foreign employees for the third year in
  a row.
• Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural,
  religious, financial, educational, and
  transportation centre of Russia we well as the
  world.

Geography of Moscow

• It is located on the Moscow River in the Central
  Federal District, in the European part of Russia.
  
• The Moscow Region is located in the basin of the
  Volga, Oka, Klyazma, and Moscow Rivers and covers
  and area of 46 000 square km.

• Moscow's Population as of now is 8,652,195.
• Including 2 million ethnic Azeri's, 1 million
  Armenians, 40,000 Chechens.
• Mostly Russian is spoken throughout Moscow,
• English is not common in Moscow, it is usually

  trade.

Climate

• Moscows Climate is continental, though mild.
  There are no severe frosts or excessive heat,
  although deviations from normal seasonal
  temperatures are quite frequent.
• On average, Moscow has 194 days of above zero and
  103 days of below zero temperature every year.
• As a result of global warming, average
  temperatures of the first half of the year in
  Moscow have recently gone up. While such months
  as November and December are becoming much
  colder.

History of Moscow

• The first mention in the Historical Chronicles is
  made about the city of Moscow, which was founded
  by Russian prince Yury Dolgoruky. Eight centuries
  ago there were some successful negotiations
  finished and men wanted to make a feast at some
  place to celebrate it. So they just looked for
  some place to eat and the nearest place was a
  small town Moscow, that's how and why it was
  first mentioned.
• The first line of Moscow Metro was opened and put
  into operation. Moscow metro is very deep they
  wanted it to be an air-shelter.
• The city was named after the River.
• On the 12th of March 1918, the city of Moscow
• became the capital of the Russia Soviet
  Union.
• In 1980 Moscow hosted the Summer Olympic Games
  which was boycotted by the United States and
  several other Western Countries.

  scientific center of Russia.

  State Kremlin Palace.

  accepted to be April 4, 1147, when the first
  record of Moscow in Russian chronicles was done.

  shield, where an ancient Old-Russian subject is
  depicted.

  "Defenders of the Motherland Day" (February
  23rd), They also have a "International Women's
  Day" (March 8th).
