2A Bit About My Family and Myself
- I grew up in Antigonish, a small town in
Northeastern Nova Scotia. - My parents names are Garry and Karin and I have a
16 year old sister named Silvia. - My husbands name is Kris Hunter. He is currently
a Ph.D. candidate in fisheries biology here at
U.B.C.
My father Garry, my mother Karin, my husband
Kris, myself, and my sister Silvia.
3And of course
- Our cats Merra and Corin, my family is not
complete without them. They currently live in
Nova Scotia because they probably would not have
enjoyed the drive to Vancouver in a U-Haul.

small communities.

7My Work Experiences
- I am currently working as a Bookseller at
Chapters. - As an MA student at the University of Waterloo, I
worked as a Teaching Assistant. - As a student at St.F.X. I had the opportunity to
work as a research assistant for a Canadian
womens history course and also designed the
course web site.
8My Interests
- Probably because of my education, I have a wide
range of historical interests. Womens history,
the Middle Ages, historical museums, and material
culture and preservation are to name just a few. - I love to read, although I dont have much time
for pleasure reading these days.
9My Interests Continued
- I love to listen to music. My favorite band,
without a question, is U2. - I love crafts wreath making, rubber stamping,
painting, pretty much anything. - I watch too much TV and I love movies. My
favorite TV shows are This Hour has 22 Minutes
and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My favorite movie
is Dogma.
10My Future Professional Goals
I think that the MLIS program will allow me to
build upon my past work and educational
experiences and incorporate them into a future
career. I am interested in working with students
while also continuing to learn about new trends
in information technology. I think that a
University library is the ideal place to achieve
these goals.
