Federal Direct Loan Program
  • TCNJ Moves to Federal Direct Lending
  • Effective Fall 2009, The College of New Jersey
will begin participation in the Federal Direct
    Loan Program.
  • TCNJ recently researched and compared the two
federal student loan programs, the Federal Family
Educational Loan Program (FFELP) and the Federal
    Direct Student Loan program.
  • During our research it became evident that the
Federal Direct Loan program was the better loan
program for our students and parents.
  • Direct loans come through the U.S. Department of
Education and are obtained from the U.S.
    Treasury.
  • This program offers students one point of contact
because the loans are made, backed and serviced
by the U.S. Department of Education.

Alternative/Private Loans
  • TCNJ can not certify any alternative and/or
    private loan
  • unless a FAFSA is on file.
  • Historically High-Volume Alternative Loans at
    TCNJ

Freshman Cars On Campus
The First Year Experience (FYE) is a
comprehensive program of academic and
co-curricular activities promoting the successful
transition of entering students to college life
at TCNJ. Faculty, staff and students working
together cultivate the intellectual, social and
civic development that creates a challenging, yet
supportive environment. As part of this
initiative, we strongly encourage Freshmen to
spend as much time as possible on-campus,
interacting with their new community. To that
end, Freshmen are permitted to purchase (2)
one-week parking permits per semester.
