Why a Doulos Lay Ministry Program?

• We should encourage our members to serve
• We should enable our members to follow a passion
  placed on their heart by the Holy Spirit
• We should make it easy for members to serve in
  areas they have passion
• We need to ensure lay ministries are in line with
  CBCs beliefs and values
• We need to do this without placing additional
  administrative burden on the staff

Appendix B Ministry Covenant Agreement

What is Doulos (doó-loss)?

• In Biblical times, the word doulos represented a
  slave who had obtained freedom, yet willingly
  continued to serve his master out of love and
  loyalty.
• The CBC Doulos Ministry will challenge its
  members to become bondservants of Christ through
• Coming up with big ideas for ministries at CBC
• Developing their big idea into a thriving
  ministry
• Ongoing management of their ministry under the
  direction of the Doulos Ministry Program

Doulos Ministry Guidelines

• Each lay ministry is the responsibility of the
  member to run staff is not expected to run the
  ministry
• Ministry must be compatible with CBC beliefs and
  values
• Each lay ministry must raise its own funds CBC
  will not be expected to fund any aspect of the
  ministry
